We store your shop domain and widget settings so the app works. We count widget views and clicks per day for analytics. To estimate delivery, we read the buyer's country code only — never their name, email, IP, or any other personal data. We don't sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers. Uninstall the app and we delete your data within 30 days.
This Privacy Policy explains the privacy practices of Delivery Estimated & Countdown ("the App", "we", "us"), a Shopify app that displays delivery date estimates and countdown timers on Shopify storefronts. By installing the App you agree to this policy.
1. What we collect
1.1 From you, the merchant
When you install the App, we collect from the Shopify Admin API:
- Shop domain (e.g.
your-store.myshopify.com) - Shop timezone (e.g.
Asia/Kolkata) — used to anchor cutoff time calculations - Shipping zone metadata — zone name, country list, transit-day estimates (no rate or financial data)
- Product IDs and inventory totals — only when the merchant requests "stock left" display in the widget
- Settings you configure — cutoff time, processing days, blackout dates, widget styles, copy templates, plan tier
1.2 From your storefront buyers
When a buyer lands on a product page where the widget is installed, we read:
- Country code only (e.g.
IN,CA,GB) — to match the buyer to your shipping zone. This comes from Shopify's own session signal where available, otherwise from a third-party IP geolocation service. We do not store the buyer's IP address. - Anonymized impressions and clicks — counts only, aggregated daily per shop. No buyer identifiers.
We do not collect buyer names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment data, or any cookie that identifies a specific person.
2. How we use information
We use the data described above strictly to:
- Calculate and display delivery date estimates on your storefront
- Display the countdown timer to your shipping cutoff in your timezone
- Show analytics (impressions, clicks) on your admin dashboard
- Provide customer support when you reach out
- Improve the App (in aggregate; never tied back to identifiable individuals)
- Comply with legal obligations and Shopify's app requirements
We do not use your data — or your buyers' data — for advertising, profiling, training AI models, or any purpose unrelated to running this App.
3. Sharing & disclosure
We share data only with the following categories of recipients, and only as needed to provide the App:
- Shopify — app installation, billing, and webhook delivery via the Shopify Partners platform
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — to run the app's database and API endpoints. These providers are bound by data-processing agreements and operate in the EU/US.
- IP geolocation services — only as a fallback when Shopify's country signal is unavailable. These services receive the buyer's IP at the moment of the lookup but we never receive or store the IP. Providers used:
ipinfo.io,ipapi.co,api.country.is— each with their own privacy policy. - Legal authorities — only if required by valid legal process (subpoena, court order). We will notify you if legally permitted to do so.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to anyone, ever.
4. Cookies & tracking
The storefront widget itself does not set any cookies on the buyer's device. It does not use localStorage, sessionStorage, or fingerprinting techniques.
The merchant admin app uses session cookies set by Shopify's authentication system — these are required for the app to function and are governed by Shopify's cookie policy.
5. Data security
We use industry-standard practices to protect data in transit and at rest:
- All connections to our API use HTTPS/TLS 1.2+
- Database access is restricted, logged, and uses encrypted credentials
- Shopify access tokens are stored encrypted at rest
- We follow the Shopify App Privacy & Security guidelines
No system is perfectly secure. If you discover a vulnerability, please reach out through the contact details on our Shopify App Store listing — we'll respond within 48 hours.
6. Data retention
- Shop settings & configuration: kept while your app is installed; deleted within 30 days after uninstall
- Impression & click counts: kept for up to 12 months for analytics, then aggregated or deleted
- Webhook logs: kept for up to 30 days for debugging
- Buyer data: not stored
Shopify also sends us shop/redact and customers/redact webhooks that we honor automatically per Shopify's compliance requirements.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), or similar laws — including the right to:
- Access the data we hold about your shop
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion ("right to be forgotten")
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent (by uninstalling the app)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the support channel listed on our Shopify App Store page or from inside your app admin. We respond within 30 days. There is no charge for these requests unless they are excessive or repetitive.
8. Children's privacy
The App is intended for Shopify merchants and their adult customers. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 16. If you believe a child's data has been collected, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. International data transfers
Our infrastructure is hosted in the United States and European Union. Data may be transferred between these regions for processing. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission for transfers outside the EEA.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, post a notice in your app admin or email the contact on file. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
